Writer Wednesday: How has Your Writing Voice Changed

Question of the day-

How has the tone or message of your writing voice changed?

Going through old posts and trying to salvage old ideas has made me realize how drastically my writing voice has evolved.

I can clearly see the times I was experimenting with the different tones, hues, and styles of my personal writing.

For instance, my current (general) writing/blogging style and tone is a bit more relaxed yet passionate. I get right to the point with little to no introduction or explanation.

Often, I write in short paragraphs and enjoy the use of professional pictures (royalty free or personally edited).

With this change in myself, I’m curious as to how the writing journey has gone for you. How has your tone and style changed or evolved over the years?

I look forward to discussing with you, below! 🙂

  1. Yeah over the course of my writing journey, I have found that my writing styles has changed too. And the more differ styles of books I read, the more involuntary the changes come, like it’s kind of automatic how the changes get incorporated into my own writing. It’s not that I am copying the style of the books I read because my style would be quite different than that, but there has always been some subtle influence, adding on things that I like and discarding the ones I dont. Am I the only one to do so?

  2. I started out solely as a mental health blog focusing on bipolar disorder. Now I have expanded what I blog about and it has become more varied. I think that has allowed me to be more vested in my blog because I can write about so many varied things.

      1. Thanks Fairen. After being sick AGAIN I’m trying to catch back on my favorite blog reading.
I like this topic alot. I think when I first started blogging I was more concerned with everything being meticulous and “right”. But as I’ve gone on maybe my life or recipe updates are more laid back. Then I’ll have an occasional one that’s more like an essay. I’m okay with it, but maybe I”m too all over the place lol

      2. Oh no! Nothing too bad, I hope. I agree, I was so obsessed with everything on my blog. Now, I’ve created a schedule and am not afraid to leave for a bit. I learned not to suck the fun out of blogging lol.
