Christmas And New Year In Portugal During the Pandemic

A few years ago I wrote 2 posts about traditions here in Portugal ( What Do We Eat On Christmas Eve And On Christmas Day Here In Portugal (wordpress.com) and What Do We Drink On Christmas Eve And On Christmas Day Here In Portugal | The Other Soul (wordpress.com)).

Of course, traditions are traditions but this year things are different due to restrictions. On Christmas Eve, we are allowed to stay out of home until 2 a.m. The traditional Christmas mass at midnight  will start one hour earlier. But on Christmas day we are only allowed to be out until 11 p.m.

From midnight (31 st December) to 5 a.m. (4th of January) no one can leave its county, public parties are forbidden, and  on new year´s day restaurants  must close at 3.30 p.m and no one is allowed to stay out of home after 11 p.m.

No more than 6 persons can be together on open public spaces

No matter the restrictions all I want to is wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
